Can I put PC5300 DDR2 SODIMM memory into a computer that currently has PC2700 DDR2, if i remove the old mem?
I am going to be taking the older memory out of my laptop, but don’t know if I buy the new memory if it will work in the computer. The Current memory works at 333mhz, while the new will work at 667mhz. I don’t know the exact specifications of the mother board, except that it has a 3.0ghz Intel CPU.
PC2700 is not DDR2, it’s the original DDR. It is not compatible with DDR2. If you want to find out what memory you can use, take your computer to www.crucial.com and run the memory configuration tool.
