Processor Upgrade On A Dell Operating System ?
I have a dell e521, with a amd athlon dual core x2 3800+ (This is my item i would like to upgrade)
My socket for my processor is am2 slot, so far i have found 3 processor that is in the price range i would like to spend. (100 dollars canadian, this including the shipping cost)
I know this is not much and i am not going to get a great processor for this amount of money, but i would like i decent one, either intel or amd. Theses are the ones i have found:
Intel Celeron E1200 1.6GHz 512KB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Brisbane 2.7GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Brisbane 2.6GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor
It would be GREAT if you could offer processor suggest for my type of computer and my price range if not, add suggestions on my pick or if it is worth it.

Be careful, there are no Intel chips that would fit that socket. Socket AM2 is the AMD socket.
The two Athlon x2 chips would do very nicely. I’m not sure where to shop in $CA since I’m from the UK, but I suspect that a Athlon x2 6000 might just be in your price range.
