What’s the advantage of PCI-E x1 SOUND card over old PCI version?
I’m planning to get the Creative Sound Blaster X-FI card, and there are two versions: PCI-E x1 and old PCI. What is the advantage of the PCI-E x1 over old PCI?
My motherboard has one PCI-E x16 slot and one PCI-E x1 slot. Is there any reason not to get a PCI-E x1 sound card in order to save that slot for something else?
I already have a PCI-E x16 graphics card installed.
Basically, there is no real reason to get a PCI-E sound card unless you plan on getting a high-end, top-of-the-line card. The regular PCI bus is usually fast enuff for audio.
